11:00 am - Phidgets Inc Presents...

Lucas Pacentrilli, of Phidgets Education, will present an overview of Phidgets and how to use them in a computer science curriculum. All attendees of this session will be able to request a free starter kit from Phidgets to be mailed to their home or work.

11:00 am - Algorithm Design and Pseudocode
This is Saturday PD offered in partnership with JumpstartPhilly CS4All aimed at teachers who want to be prepared to take and pass the new Praxis test to become CS Certified in PA. We will explore ways to explicitly teach problem solving to students, including the ability to plan your program and communicate that plan in English and pseudocode. The Pseudocode specifications used on the Praxis exam will be introduced. Algorithm design will start with common, known algorithms and how to express them in pseudocode to your own unique algorithms.

1:00 pm -  Team Flight Control on Drones in STEM Education
Join Team Flight Control (TFC) to learn about how drone technology is quickly becoming one of the most exciting topics in Stem education. TFC focuses on inspiring the next generation of New Age Aviators by introducing students to career paths within the expanding drone industry. Students will learn how to safely operate a drone manually and autonomously in order to complete tasks that simulate real life scenarios. TFC is also one of the only organizations in the country preparing students to excel in the exciting field of FPV (First Person View) flying. This session will introduce you to Team Flight Control and the importance of drone education.

1:00 pm - Repl.it for HS with Dr. William Mongan
In this workshop, we will explore opportunities to utilize Repl.it in the classroom for both small classroom exercises and assignments.  We will integrate repl.it projects with additional tools and techniques including GitHub Classroom and POGIL instructional methods.
